  • Corptax: Ohio Municipal Return - Best Practice for Reviewing the returns

When electronically filing the Ohio municipal returns, use the MNP-10 Summary (e-file only) pages 1-2 at the Total column to review the common data for all jurisdictions. This will include federal taxable income, adjustments, apportionment factor denominators, etc.

For e-filed returns, the common data is pulled from the top-level e-file only pages, and it displays in the e-file package one time based on the schema requirements.

For both e-file and paper filers, use the MNP-10 City returns, pages 1-2 and the NOL deduction worksheets to review city specific data. This will include apportionment factor numerators and NOL information. Use the selector in the upper left to choose the specific city.

For e-file, the city specific data is included in the e-file package for each city. Specific city data is identified in the raw data view with the city code; the e-file “Element/Attribute” is MuniCode.
